Institutional Development

In order to effectively implement the various actions and activities in its mandates, the MRU needs to develop its institutional capacity. This involves ensuring that the people, infrastructure, and resources needed to deliver all the actions are relevant to its current demands. The MRU also needs to build a strong and credible brand image as a solid sub-regional agency actively working with member states to promote cohesion, political and economic stability.

This pillar then looks at building the union’s staff capacity to make effective use of opportunities with partners, while also building a strong database for knowledge management. The MRU has designed actions towards:

  • Strengthening visibility and partner engagement,
  • institutional coordination,
  • staff capacity building and knowledge management
