Construction of MRU Headquarters

The Construction of the MRU Headquarters is a strategic infrastructure project aimed at providing a permanent, owned facility for the Mano River Union Secretariat. For over 50 years, the MRU Secretariat has operated without a dedicated headquarters, which has posed significant challenges to its operations and long-term sustainability.

The project involves the construction of a state-of-the-art headquarters building that will serve as the central hub for the MRU’s activities and operations. The MRU Secretariat has already secured land for the construction, which has been fenced, and the architectural design for the building is currently being finalized.

The construction of the headquarters is being funded by MRU member states and development partners, who recognize the importance of providing a permanent home for the Secretariat. Once completed, the headquarters will enhance the operational efficiency of the MRU, support its long-term sustainability, and provide a symbol of the unity and cooperation that underpins the MRU’s work.

The MRU Secretariat is leading the coordination of this project, working closely with national governments, development partners, and contractors to ensure the successful completion of the headquarters.
