MRU Staff Capacity Building and Partners Engagement

The MRU Staff Capacity Building and Partners Engagement project is a critical initiative aimed at ensuring that the MRU Secretariat and its staff are equipped to pursue the Secretariat’s mandate effectively. The project focuses on enhancing the capacity of MRU staff through targeted training, the development of institutional policies, and the upgrading of operational systems.

Supported by WABILED, USAID, and the African Development Bank (AfDB), the project includes the updating of the MRU Strategic Plan, the revision of the Financial and Accounting Policies and Procedures Manual, and the training of finance staff on International Financial Reporting Standards (IPSAS). Additionally, the project involves the upgrading of the MRU Secretariat’s official website and accounting software to improve transparency and accountability.

The project also includes a knowledge management component, which aims to ensure proper storage and access to all MRU documents. This component is particularly important for preserving institutional memory and ensuring that the MRU Secretariat can effectively manage its resources and information.

The MRU Secretariat coordinates the implementation of this project, working closely with partners to ensure that staff have the necessary skills and tools to carry out their work. The project is ongoing and continues to contribute to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the MRU Secretariat.
