The Youth Development project is designed to empower young people within the Mano River Union by enhancing their capacity for self-development, advocacy, and regional stability. Recognizing the critical role that youth play in shaping the future of the region, the MRU Secretariat has prioritized youth development as a key area of focus.

The project, which is supported by various partners, has organized sub-regional youth conferences that provide a platform for young people to discuss issues related to empowerment, education, and employment. These conferences also offer training on the electoral processes of MRU member states, helping to equip young people with the knowledge and skills they need to participate actively in their countries’ political systems.

In addition to these activities, the project also focuses on creating opportunities for youth to engage in community service, entrepreneurship, and leadership development. The MRU Secretariat coordinates the implementation of the project, ensuring that it aligns with regional strategies for youth development and contributes to the overall stability and prosperity of the MRU region.
